Car Goes Through Fence After Fight at Woodbury's Carver Lake Park

The incident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. June 18.

A car went speeding through the parking lot of Carver Lake Park, going airborne over a walking path and crashing through a fence following a reported fight there on June 18, according to a Woodbury police report.

Several residents called 911 a little after 7:30 p.m. about the fight, in which four shirtless men were throwing punches and glass, witnesses told dispatchers.

Officers arrived and saw the vehicle crash through the fence and try to turn around; an Oakdale man was ordered to the ground and handcuffed.

At the beach, police gathered statements from witnesses, and the man in the car was taken to Woodwinds Hospital for evaluation for his injuries, according to the report.

A preliminary breath test showed the man had a blood-alcohol content of .23 and he consented to a blood test at the hospital that will be sent to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for analysis, the report says. He will likely be charged once the results come back.
