Cell Phone Left Behind at Woodbury Crime Leads to Burglary Conviction

Andre Thomas Langlois Holt, 26, later pawned items he stole from an attached garage in Woodbury.

A West St. Paul man was recently convicted for burglary after the neighbor of the victim found his cell phone while mowing the lawn.

Andre Thomas Langlois Holt, 26, pawned items he stole from an attached garage at the 8000 block of Galway Road in mid-July last year, according to the criminal complaint.

Nine days after police took the call about the stolen GPS devices, power inverter and weed whip, the victim called officers and gave them the cell phone his next-door neighbor found.

Police discovered that it belonged to Holt, and a records check determined he pawned several items the day of the theft, including those stolen from the Woodbury garage, the complaint says.

When they tried to track Holt down, police learned he was in custody at the Ramsey County Jail. Holt was committed to the Commissioner of Corrections for 49 months, concurrent with time already serving, with credit for 61 days.
