Child's Leg Trapped in Bike; Tells Cops He Likes Firefighters Better

Police tried multiple methods to free the youngster during the July 10 incident.

Woodbury police were able to free a child whose leg got caught in his bicycle on July 10, and as officers were working to get him loose, he told them he prefers firefighters.

According to a Woodbury police report:

Police were called at about 5:15 p.m. July 10 on a report of a 5-year-old whose left leg was stuck between the pedal and frame of his bike.

Attempt No. 1, soap and water, was ineffective.

Attempt No. 2, brute force, was also ineffective.

"Trapped child advises he likes firefighters better," reads the report.

Attempt No. 3, getting a wrench and disassembling the bike, worked, and the child was freed.
