Coke Bust: Gas Station Was ‘Too Hot,’ Dealer Wanted a Cold One

About $400 worth of cocaine and a 12-pack of beer were exchanged in .

That’s part of the criminal complaint against Veasna Phan, 30, of St. Paul, who was apprehended after allegedly selling cocaine to another man in Woodbury.

At about 6 p.m. on Aug. 15, Phan sold an “8-ball” of cocaine to the man, according to the complaint.

They initially agreed to meet at the off Lake Road in Woodbury, but Phan thought it was “too hot” and demanded the buyer go into and purchase a 12-pack of Corona, the complaint says.

The two later did the deal for $385—the cost of the cocaine minus the cost of the beer. The drugs, with a packaged weight of 4.6 grams, later tested positive for cocaine, according to the complaint.

The deal took place in a car, with Phan’s brother, Chamrouen Phan, 29, present at the time, the complaint says. They then drove back to SuperAmerica and members of the Washington County Narcotics Task Force arrested the brothers.

The arrests were part of a "routine investigation," Sgt. Andy Ellickson with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office told Patch last week. The apprehension was routine, he said, though due of the nature of the arrest one lane of traffic was blocked off as authorities checked for weapons. None were found.
