Man Accused of Having Sex with Goat at Axdahl's Garden Farm: Police

A 37-year-old man has been charged of burglarizing Axdahl's Garden Farm near Stillwater this summer, and then sodomizing a goat. The man's whereabouts are unknown at this time.

After a two-month investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, a 37-year-old man is accused of sodomizing a petting zoo goat at Axdahl’s Garden Farm in Grant this summer.

Abimael Rojas Dominguez was charged Thursday by the Washington County Attorney’s Office with third-degree burglary and animal cruelty. His whereabouts are unknown at this time.

According to the complaint:

The Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to a call from Axdahl’s on Aug. 2 for a report of a dead goat and possible sodomy.

A worker at Axdahl’s told detectives that he had entered the lower level of the Axdahl's barn at about 8:50 am on Aug. 2 to feed and water the animals.

The employee noticed that some stalls were open that are always closed at night. After further investigation, the staffer then discovered a deceased goat tied to a piece of farm equipment and called police. Detectives later discovered a discarded condom near the dead goat and evidence that the goat had been assaulted in a sexual manner.

Detectives later retraced the suspect Dominguez back to the petting zoo after the Minnesota State Patrol arrested him for walking along Hwy. 36 the next morning, after he had mechanical problems with a vehicle he was driving that was later impounded.

In the following days, detectives arranged a meeting with Dominguez, who allegedly admitted that he had been drinking and driving the night of Aug. 1.

When asked if he would be seen on Axdahl Farms' video surveillance, Dominguez reportedly replied, "I don't know, I don't remember."

When asked if his fingerprints would match any found at Axdahl Farms, Dominguez told detectives, "I don't know."

Detectives then collected a DNA swab from the inside of Dominguez's cheek, which they say matched DNA evidence of the assault found at the scene.

The report indicates that "the probability of selecting an unrelated individual at random from the general population having a DNA profile that would match this partial DNA profile is approximately 1 in 110,500."

Ran across this. saw reference to Thomas. want to make it clear that "thomas" is NOT me. but while I'm at it, let me remind you that Peter Singer, a noted "bioethicist" (holds a pretigious chair at Princeton) thinks that bestiality is OK.

OK. I think i got it.. if he has done this before ie 2nd offence ..it is a gross misdemeanor then entered the building and did one of the Subdivision 1. acts- it is a felony under Subdivision 3. And the death of the animal means he can get no more that 2 well deserved years. imprisonmentand $3,000 fine. So he entered the building and commited a mesdomeaner [first convicition] or gross misdemeanor [2nd time] he could get either 2 years or 5 years depending on outcome of the trial. Not to mention the DUI. I hope he does not get a plea deal of some kind. Thats it for me on better other subjects. Thanks for the answer Susan

Thomas, I think the bigger issue here (sorry, I am an animal lover too) is going to be the burglary in the third degree. This is a felony with up to 5 years and a $10,000 fine. I am not a lawyer, but my guess would be that any "deal" he makes would be in regards to the burglary charge. The penalties and fines involving this poor animal and the cruelty charge are probably going to get rolled into the larger charge of burglary. I hope I am wrong, I would love to see this idiot get the max for both, but I think this is going to be a plea bargain.

Wouldn't the fact that the goat, or Thelma rather, died make this a more serious offense? I can't stand cruelty of any sort, killing the goat, intended or not should be more than a misdemeanor. Desperate people do desperate things, I get that, but I will never understand raping farm animals!! This S.O.B deserves prison time. I am extremely irritated and angry by all of this, and these are only my opinions and I hope I didn't offend anyone. I apologize if I did.
