Creepy Beachgoer, Ain’t it the Tooth, Cereal Squabble: Woodbury Police Blotter

Selected calls to the Woodbury Public Safety Department from July 9-16.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

July 9

Police were called about an upset McDonald’s employee who was yelling at a manager. An officer located the man walking near Valley Creek Road and Weir Drive. He told police he got upset because he wanted to leave work because of a toothache. He was fired, and was trespassed from McDonald’s and transported to the Sunray shopping center.

A man told an officer doing K-9 training at a field near Crosswinds school that he saw another man along a walking path sitting at a fire with a bag up to his face, and the individual quickly removed it when approached. The officer checked the area and did not locate the person, but called the Woodbury Fire Department to put out the unattended fire.

July 10

A home at the 3500 block of Sunbury Drive was hit with about 20 paintballs. The homeowner had power-washed the paint off the house by the time police arrived. There were other related incidents in the area.

Police were called about a 5-year-old child whose left leg was stuck between the pedal and frame of his bike. Find out what he told police as they were working to free him.

There was a complaint about drag racing along Glen Road between Radio and Woodlane drives.

A woman called police about an encounter at Carver Lake Beach. She said a man came up to her after she was swimming and told her she was beautiful and that he liked to watch her swim. He asked to walk her home and she said no. He said he was married but was in love with her. He was wearing “tight bicycle clothing” and had a bike but walked with her. He told her he would like to watch her swim another time. He left her before she got home.

July 11

Residents at the 10300 block of Kilbirnie Road told police they found a window screen on the floor in what may have been an attempted break-in. They were away during the previous days and wanted the incident documented.

July 12

A group of seven people was causing a scene at the Holiday gas station on Radio Drive at about midnight. They were demanding surveillance video from the store relating to a stolen cell phone. They were advised to contact management in the morning.

July 13

A Wimbledon Ridge resident yelled at a man he saw in his car while it was in the driveway. The suspect ran off through several yards; nothing was missing from the car. Police were able to lift fingerprints from the vehicle.

July 15

An argument between two men broke out in line at Wal-Mart after one asked the other about his child spilling cereal on the floor. One of the men asked the other to step outside. Police arrived and mediated. There was no assault.

A customer was yelling and making threats at Goodyear. The man was upset with a product he had purchased but agreed on a price without further incident.

July 16

Police transported an extremely intoxicated man to detox at his request. He said he had a problem with alcohol.
