The Woodbury and Roseville Police Departments have received numerous reports of mail theft from residential mailboxes, a Woodbury Public Safety Department press release stated.

"Two Asian males, approximately 18-22 years old, appear to be occupying the suspect vehicle," the press release states. "One drives and one sits in the back seat to collect the mail. Please help identify this vehicle and/or suspect."

The vehicle appears to be a red Toyota Rav4, four-door SUV, according to the press release.

Photos of a suspect vehicle from a Roseville resident’s security camera matches a photo of a suspect vehicle from similar reports in Woodbury, according to the press release.

What to look for?

    · Suspicious vehicles stopping or moving slowly by mailboxes.

    · Multiple open mailboxes and junk mail scattered on streets.

How to prevent mail theft

    · Don’t send outgoing mail from residential mailboxes.

    · Hand deliver your sensitive outgoing mail directly to the mail carrier or if possible, use a secured mailbox, like the ones at the post office.

    · Consider using a P.O. Box or a mailbox that locks.

    · Collect your mail from your mailbox as soon as possible.

Anyone with information about area mail thefts is asked to call the Woodbury Police Department at 651-714-3600, or the Roseville Police Department at 651-792-7008.
