Dead Animals Found Burned in Woodbury an Isolated Incident

Police encourage people to call if they see anything suspicious.

The animals found dead and burned in Woodbury on May 4 appear to be part of an an isolated incident.

There have been no similar reports, said Michelle Okada, Public Safety spokeswoman.

“Police are aware of the incident that was reported and they will continue to monitor the area,” she told Patch.

The dead and burned animals—varied small mammals—were found in and around a garbage can near Tamarack Road and Interlachen Parkway.

Officers got the call at about 7:45 p.m. on May 4 after children who were playing in the area reported the findings to adults.

The person who called police told officers it seemed as if they were part of “some sort of ritual,” according to a police report.

Okada said there wasn’t much more information about the incident and encouraged residents to call police if they see anything suspicious.
