DNA Evidence Leads Police to Woodbury Burglary Suspect
Timothy Russell Isaacson, 24, was sentenced for third-degree burglary after he broke into a Woodbury garage.
A metal rod left at the scene of a Woodbury garage break-in led police to a suspect who was recently convicted of a felony burglary charge stemming from a 2-year-old case.
Timothy Russell Isaacson, 24, was sentenced to 27 months in prison, with credit for 418 days served, following his third-degree burglary conviction.

Police on July 17, 2010, were dispatched to a home at the 7200 block of Guider Drive on a report of a burglary. The homeowner said he was awoken by his car alarm, and saw a red Chevy Cavalier speed off.
In his garage, the man found the driver’s-side door handle damaged, and officers found a metal rod on the ground next to the vehicle.

Police did a DNA swab of the rod, and officials with the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension matched the DNA to Isaacson, whose DNA also matched a cigarette from a motor vehicle tampering case on Mallard Drive in Woodbury in June 2010.
Officers believed Isaacson was attempting to steal the car in the garage.
