Drive-thru Times Two, Waved Off, Sticky Situation: Woodbury Police Blotter

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

A case of Michelob Golden Draft Light was stolen from an outdoor cooler at Green Mill. A handle was broken on the cooler.

A resident at the 2000 block of Lamplight Circle called police after he drove past a neighbor’s home and a man standing outside raised his arm in a manner the caller found threatening. Police contacted the neighbor, who said he was trying to wave and wanted to put previous issues to rest. The caller told police he “does not want any neighbors to engage him in any manner.”

An employee at the Red Roof Inn called police after seeing a man apparently hiding in a vending area. Police made contact with the man, who said he was visiting a friend who kicked him out of a room. He had met the man in jail. He told police he is homeless and they transported him to the Dorothy Day Center.

Police found a man sleeping in his running car with the lights on in the parking lot at PDQ/Burger King. The man did not wake up until an officer kicked the door and yelled at the man. When he woke up, the officer noticed he had bloodshot eyes and he rarely answered questions. When asked for his ID, he gave the officer his credit card. He told police he was heading home after going to Burger King but later admitted he was drinking at a nearby bar. A Washington County Sheriff’s deputy took over the investigation and the man was booked on suspicion of DWI.

Police were called about a vehicle driving slowly down each aisle at Target. There were three men in the vehicle looking at other cars in the lot.

Per a court order, a Woodbury man surrendered four guns at the Public Safety Department.

A “good citizen” stood with a female worker at Walgreens after a man was watching her while she was outside smoking. The man who was watching the woman left in a white Grand Prix with no license plates.

A Woodbury resident called police after someone rang her doorbell at least 10 times. She was concerned because her home had been robbed twice in the past month.

Police were called about driver in a dark sedan checking mailboxes along a Woodbury street. Officers did not find anything suspicious by the time they arrived. (The address was redacted from the report.)

After being called about a fight in Woodbury, those involved denied there was an altercation. (The address was redacted from the report.)

A blue Chevy Lumina came through the drive-thru at Taco Bell and the driver was belligerent to staff. The driver and passenger were asked to leave without being served. He later returned driving a white minivan and was again abusive to employees. He was told to leave, and workers wanted the incident documented.

A resident at the 2300 block of Cypress Drive called police after finding a burned stuck near her A/C unit.

A man was arrested on suspicion of assault after he apparently slapped his girlfriend’s mother. He was using a derogatory term and she asked him to stop.

A resident at the 6300 block of Alderwood Circle called police after the father of her child sent her an explicit photo of himself. She told police he had been pursuing her sexually of late. He said the photo was intended for someone else. Police provided the woman with information on obtaining a no-contact order.

A resident at the 2500 block of Cobble Hill Court called police after noticing that a Plexiglas cap on a neighbor’s outdoor light fixture had melted.

A laptop, iPad, iPhone, case and computer bag were reported stolen from a resident at the R.H. Stafford Branch Library. He told police he had left his bag alone for two minutes and returned to find it missing.

Police were called to the 1100 block of Weir Drive about a pigeon or dove with a tag around its foot that was standing outside a business. Police transported the bird to the Animal Humane Society.

Officers warned teenagers who admitted to driving around in circles in the parking lot of Carver Lake Park for no reason.
