Drunk Woman’s Well Wishes, Pistol Goes Off: Woodbury Police Blotter

Selected calls to the Woodbury Public Safety Department from Oct. 2-8.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

Oct. 2

A resident at the 1300 block of Tamberwood Trail told police his neighbor reported seeing a man in his yard, and when he checked the grounds he found several large rocks were tipped over. There were no signs of an attempted break-in, but the homeowner believed the individual who tipped over the rocks may have been looking for a house key.

A truck caused about $500 in damage to fields at Crosswinds School.

Police were called about a drunken man at Rainbow Foods, but he was gone by the time officers arrived.

A resident at the 6400 block of Oakwood Road called police after a woman—who apparently used to live at the house—showed up drunk and rang the doorbell and wished the new homeowners well. The current resident said she felt very uncomfortable.

Oct. 3

Police received multiple reports of gunshots in the area of the 9400 block of Wentlock Road. Officers checked the area with negative results.

Oct. 4

Police were called about a possible loud party at the 10000 block of Glen Eagle Road. It turned out to be a band practicing, and members said they would stop for the night.

Oct. 5

Someone tipped over roadwork signs at Settlers Ridge Parkway and Eastview Road.

A resident called police after seeing an SUV pull into the parking lot at Woodbury Elementary and three or four men got out of the vehicle, then got back inside. A sedan also pulled up next to the SUV. The cars were gone by the time police arrived.

Jewelry was stolen from a Woodbury home following a burglary in which a patio door was broken. The thief(s) went into a bedroom and stole the items.

Oct. 7

A man’s pistol accidentally discharged while he was cleaning it at his home on Falstaff Road. He called to tell police about the incident. The bullet went into the floor and no one was injured.

Oct. 8

A woman drove away from her home with her purse on the trunk, and it fell off along Upper Afton Road. It was returned.
