Fire Hits Home on Pheasant Run Road

The Woodbury Fire Department got the call at about 3:15 p.m. Monday; no one was injured.

No one was injured in a house fire that broke out Monday afternoon at the 8600 block of Pheasant Run Road in Woodbury.

The got the call at about 3:15 p.m. and the fire was out by 4:40 p.m., Police Sgt. Sue McMahon said. Firefighters were still investigating the cause Monday.

Emergency crews got a call from a neighbor about smoke and flames coming from the home, McMahon said. There were no reports of pets in the home, she said, and officials were connecting the family with support organizations such as the Red Cross.

Ronald Leitner, who lives nearby, said he and his wife Mary Ann saw one of the residents walking away from the home a short time before the fire broke out. They said their main concern was for the occupants.

The owners of the home have lived on the block for at least the past seven years, Leitner said.

He said he was impressed with the response of the Woodbury Fire Department.

“They do a super job,” Leitner said, adding that he and his wife have lived across the country and it’s not always that way. “We’ve always appreciated their services here.”
