Fox News Anchor Arrested at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport

Accused of being drunk, belligerent and combative with police, Gregg Jarrett posted a $300 bond on Thursday.

A Fox News anchor arrested at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport for being drunk and belligerent has been on leave, according to the network, to deal with "serious personal issues."

Gregg Jarrett, 59, a weekend co-anchor on the Fox News Channel, was charged Wednesday with a obstructing the legal process and interfering with a police officer. Police said he was "combative" when officers approached him.

Jarrett has been off the air since mid-April, according to Fox News, when he appeared on camera slurring his words during a panel discussion.

He was arrested about 12:40 p.m. Wednesday at Northern Lights Grill in the main terminal, airport spokesman Patrick Hogan told news reporters. Jarrett, of Larchmont, NY, posted a $300 bond at 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

He's due in Hennepin County District Court on June 6.

Fox released a statement: "We were made aware late last night that Gregg Jarrett was arrested in Minneapolis yesterday and charged with a misdemeanor. He is dealing with serious personal issues at this time. A date for which Gregg might return to air has yet to be determined.”
