Woodbury Woman Appears On Narcotics Charge After 2010 No-Show

A Woodbury woman made her first appearance in Washington County court on Nov. 21 after being summoned to face a felony fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance charge. 

Shannon Margaret St. Clair failed to appear at her original hearing scheduled for October 2010. 

According to a criminal complaint filed in Washington County Court on Aug. 26, 2011:

Beginning in November 2010, Woodbury police began surveillance on a townhouse belonging to St. Clair, 37, located in the 2300 block of Cypress Drive.

St. Clair lived in the home with her two children.

Police concluded that the ongoing short-term traffic they witnessed was consistent with narcotics trafficking.

In December 2010, police conducted garbage pulls on discarded trash outside the home. According to the complaint:

On at least two occasions, the search of the garbage produced trace amounts of methamphetamine from discarded zip top bags and Q-tips. These were all field tested and showed a positive reaction for methamphetamine.

The complaint also says Woodbury police executed a search of the home in January 2011 and found two digital scales, numerous items of drug paraphernalia and a small baggie containing a white crystallized substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.

The total packaged amount of methamphetamine weighed approximately 0.92 grams.

St. Clair's second court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 15.

If convicted, St. Clair faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
