Man Allegedly Steals $13,000 in Copper, Wire from Woodbury Construction Site

Todd Perez Arrendo, 42, faces a felony burglary charge.

A St. Paul man faces a felony burglary charge for allegedly stealing more than $13,700 worth of electrical wire and copper fittings from a construction site at the 400 block of Bielenberg Drive in Woodbury.

Todd Perez Arredondo, 42, was linked to the theft—which occurred during the overnight hours of Feb. 18-19—after police put out a crime alert at area scrap yards.

Woodbury police on Feb. 22 got word from a plant in St. Paul; a manager there said the stolen items matched those brought to the business, according to the criminal complaint. The manager refused to purchase the items and the man left.

However, the subject had previously sold items to the plant, and employees identified him as Arredondo.

Later, employees confirmed the items brought in by Arredondo matched the stolen wire and copper, and he was also identified in a photo lineup, the complaint says.

Police on March 8 learned that Arredondo had been arrested in Hennepin County on an outstanding warrant. He invoked his right to an attorney and refused to speak with police.

If convicted on the burglary charge, Arredondo faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
