Police took a swab from a stain in one of the cars and sent it to the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for analysis. Authorities matched the DNA to Hobbs, who was incarcerated in a state prison at the time.

Also, a resident at the building told police she saw a man who fit Hobbs’ description near a vehicle at about 4:30 a.m. on March 28, according to the report.
