Man Dies Following Highway 36 Crash at Manning Avenue

A 42-year-old Marine on St. Croix man died Thursday after a crash on Highway 36 near Manning Avenue in Lake Elmo, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

A 42-year-old Marine on St. Croix man died Thursday after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 36 at Manning Avenue, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

John R. Larson was driving eastbound on Highway 36 in a 1997 Saturn, and had a green arrow to go northbound on Manning Avenue when he was broad-sided by a 2010 Dodge Caravan driven by Kenneth Tougaw, 40, of Bayport, according to a State Patrol crash report.

Larson died as a result of the crash, according to the State Patrol. Tougaw reportedly suffered minor injuries.

The crash was reported at 6:07 a.m. A portion of Highway 36 was closed until about 8 a.m.

Highway 36 just reopened after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 36 and Manning Avenue this morning.

One person was transported from the scene with serious injuries, Lt. Eric Roeske of the Minnesota State Patrol said. The crash occurred just after 6 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation.

More information should be available shortly, Roeske said.
