Updated: Man Makes Bomb Threat, Bank Just Outside Woodbury Evacuated

Lake Elmo Bank in Oakdale was evacuated Wednesday morning after a man walked up to a drive-through window and said he had a bomb.

The man who was arrested has been identified as Matthew Allen Klemmer, 45, of St. Paul.

Klemmer is currently being held in the Washington County Jail pending formal charges.

During the investigation officers found an item that Klemmer left at the bank. Members of the St. Paul Bomb Squad X-rayed the item at the scene and did not detect any explosive materials. Officers believe this was the same item Klemmer used when making his threats. The item is undergoing further forensic testing.

Officials have not released any motive for the threats.

Oakdale Police received the call about the threat at 7:41 a.m. The man had parked a white motorcycle in front of the bank's doors before walking to the bank's drive-through window.

in Oakdale was evacuated early Wednesday morning after a man walked up to a drive-through window and claimed he had a "threatening device" and demanded to speak to federal agents.

Oakdale police arrived and subdued the man using a taser. He was arrested and booked at the Washington County Jail at 8:11 a.m. The suspect's name should be released later today, July 25, according to Oakdale police spokeswoman Michelle Stark.

The bank—just outside Woodbury at 600 Inwood Ave.—along with nearby businesses were evacuated. There were no injuries. 

Oakdale police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Washington County Sheriff's Office and the St. Paul Bomb Squad are currently investigating the scene.

No device was recovered. Authorities will conduct a "meticulous" search of the building, Stark said.
