Man Sentenced to Prison Time for Woodbury Robbery

Erik Martinez, of Oakdale, threatened another man and demanded his possessions after the victim said he didn't want to buy any drugs.

An Oakdale man has been sentenced to 50 months in prison, with credit for 234 days served, following a conviction for simple robbery.

Erik Martinez, 38, approached a man at what was then Woody’s Roadhouse in Woodbury in May 2012 and asked the individual if he wanted to buy drugs, according to the complaint.

When the man refused, Martinez threatened him and demanded he turn over his possessions.

The man gave up his cell phone, money clip and credit cards, the complaint says.

Police tracked the victim’s cell phone to a home on the east side of St. Paul, where officers conducted a search and found Martinez, who said, “I give up,” according to the complaint.

After searching the house, police found the victim’s belongings, and the man later positively identified Martinez as the person who robbed him.
