Man Who Threatened to Shoot Woodbury Police Convicted for Disorderly Conduct

Alec Conners was convicted for disorderly conduct in Washington County District Court after threatening to shoot Woodbury police officers and burn down some of his family members' homes.

An Oakdale man whose mother said he threatened to kill officers was recently convicted of disorderly conduct in Washington County District Court

According to the criminal complaint, Alec Conners, 19, was arrested by Woodbury police in August 2011 for possessing stolen property.

The night of his arrest, Conners' mother had called the Oakdale Police Department stating that her son was out of control and had damaged some of her property. After Oakdale police checked on the situation, Conners left to stay the night at a Woodbury home. Later that night, Woodbury police arrested him for having stolen property, according to the complaint.

The next day, Conners' mother picked her son up from the Washington County Jail and drove to the Oakdale Police Department after her son began screaming, swearing and declaring his life was over since he had been arrested.

On their way back to Oakdale from jail, Conners told his mother he had a gun and was going to shoot and kill the officers who had arrested him. He also threatened to burn down his mother's, grandparents' and brother's houses. He also made threats against his aunt and cousin, according to the complaint.

Oakdale police notified their Woodbury counterparts about Conners' threats.

Conners was convicted of disorderly conduct. He must pay $1,000 in fines and serve 90 days in jail—with $800 and 85 days suspended for one year on certain conditions, including remaining law abiding, abstaining from drugs and alcohol, random drug testing and paying $200 in surcharges.
