Maplewood Man Pleads Guilty to Terrorizing, Assaulting Woodbury Girlfriend

Francis Albert Campbell, 40, pleaded guilty to two felonies in exchange for a dismissal of four additional counts against him.

A 40-year-old Maplewood man who pleaded guilty last Friday to two felony domestic violence-related charges is scheduled to be sentenced at 9 a.m. on March 16.

Campbell pleaded guilty in Washington County District Court to making terroristic threats and domestic assault by strangulation in exchange for a dismissal of the four misdemeanors.

Campbell also waived his right to a jury trial in the case by virtue of his guilty plea.

Campbell also choked the woman to near unconsciousness several times during the night and repeatedly threatened to kill her daughter.

The terroristic threats charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Domestic assault by strangulation is punishable by up to three years and a $5,000 fine.
