New Employee and Friend Cause Ruckus at Cub Foods While Waiting for Hot Pockets: Woodbury Police Blotter

Selected calls to the Woodbury Public Safety Department from Nov. 5 to Nov. 14, 2013.

The following information was obtained from recent Woodbury Police reports.

Nov. 5

A man reported someone broke into three buildings on Woodbury Drive. "It appears the doors are open and windows busted," according to the incident report. The buildings are going to be torn down. The owner said he "does not keep or lose anything valuable on the property."

Nov. 6

A couple reported a vehicle tore up grass in a ballfield near Woodbury High School.

Nov. 7

Officers assisted with an assault call at Menards in Oakdale. He left the store's parking lot in a dark blue Saturn. Woodbury police located the suspect at his home. He said he was at Menards, pushed an employee and threw a display rack. Oakdale police arrived to complete their investigation.

A man told Resurrection Lutheran Church parishioners he wanted to overcome his addiction to meth.

Someone took three pumpkins from the front steps of a home in the 11000 block of Halstead Drive.

Nov. 8

Employees of Cub Foods said two women were being loud and "riding around in the disabled scooters and causing a scene." One of the women told an officer she had been hired as a daytime cashier and was at the store with her friend to get some food. She said one of the custodians was heating up a Hot Pocket for her. The nighttime employees asked them to leave and they left.

Nov. 11

A woman said someone spread nails behind her son's vehicle in the driveway. All the nails were facing the vehicle. The woman's husband has a Corvette and some neighbors have complained about the noise it makes when they drive it. The woman thought the neighbor who complained about the noise could be the one who spread the nails. In the past, someone broke eggs on the driveway. An officer took photos and explained how she could ask for a harassment restraining order.

Nov. 13

The family of a 23-year-old man said he was out of control in their home. The man "has a history of schizophrenia and has been off his medications for approximately two months." His mother was afraid he would harm her, his sister or himself. The man agreed to go to St. Joseph's Hospital on a voluntary mental health evaluation.

A woman was arrested for fourth-degree DWI near the intersection of Lake View Drive and Hudson Road. She "was swerving within the lane and almost struck the median curb." She failed several sobriety tests and her blood-alcohol content measured .10.
