A West Lakeland Township woman responded to a knock on the door Monday at about 8 p.m., and opened the door for two men who were wearing reflective utility vests.

“Two men rushed her and bound her hands and feet with zip-ties,” Washington County Sheriff’s Office Commander Brian Mueller said.

During the robbery, the victim looked up and saw two additional men, Mueller said. At least two suspects wore bandanas over their face, one suspect was wearing gloves and another brandished a black handgun.

“The bound victim was carried or thrown from room-to-room,” Mueller said. “A safe was taken during the robbery, along with jewelry and coins.”

Detectives believe the suspects pulled their vehicle into the victim’s garage during the time of the robbery.

The woman was able to free herself and call 911.

It is an ongoing investigation and the Washington County Sheriff's Office says it will continue to follow all leads.

If anyone sees suspicious behavior, vehicles, or persons in their neighborhood they are encouraged to call 911 and report it immediately.
