Police Blotter: Crown Caper, Micro-Melee, I (Don’t) Love the Rainy Night

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

A resident who often walks his neighborhood collecting trash called police after multiple women’s dress shirts were dropped at different locations near the intersection of St. Johns Drive and Eastview Road. The items were dry and it had rained the night before.

Employees at called police after a man stole a bottle of Crown Royal Reserve valued at $45. A worker saw a man put the bottle down the front of his pants. The man then came to the register to pay for another item and the employee confronted him, saying he could see the outline of the bottle in the man’s pants. The man denied it and asked to see surveillance footage. While the worker went to get the footage, the man pushed past another employee and fled the store.

A man who was dropping off some items at his mother’s home at the 6700 block of Ashwood Road got into a verbal altercation with his mother’s boyfriend. He then began breaking his own items. Police determined there was no assault and the man was asked not to return. The initial call to police said someone was throwing a microwave.

The front passenger-side window of a vehicle parked at the 6700 block of Sandlewood Road was smashed and a $140 GPS was stolen.

Police responded to a report that juveniles were smoking marijuana outside . Police found that one of them had an “e-cigarette” and no contraband was found.

There was a report of a man walking around in his underwear near the intersection of Valley Creek Road and Century Avenue.

A motorist on Interstate 694 hit an object that came off another vehicle, and his right tire and gas tank were punctured. He managed to get the vehicle to the parking lot. The Woodbury Fire Department handled the gasoline leak.

There was a report of two vehicles racing along Interstate 494. The call was transferred to the State Patrol.

Someone dumped grass clippings, twigs, bricks and other wood in the street at the 6300 block of Crackleberry Trail.

A power pole at the 1900 block of Donegal Drive came down and was blocking traffic in both directions. Xcel Energy was called and police remained on scene until it was cleared.

Police stopped two people for dumpster diving at the . They were trying to take items from the renovation of . Police gave them a warning.

A resident at the 1700 block of Donegal Drive called police after hearing someone open the door to her vehicle. She opened her front door and saw two people, who ran off after she yelled at them. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

After responding to reports of an intoxicated man at the on Woodlane Drive, reserve officers transported him to Denny’s so he could get a ride. He told officers he had been drinking and did not want to be out in the rain.

Officers stood by while a group of people were evicted from the . There were reports that the group was smoking marijuana, drinking and bothering other guests.

Someone went into a garage at the and took out two carts and drove them around the course, causing about $500 in damage. The carts were retuned and the doors of the garage were shut. It likely happened while a cleaning crew was there and the alarms were deactivated.

A resident at the 11000 block of Stonemill Farms Curve called police because of a continual issue with flooding of a pond adjacent to his backyard. Officers relayed his concerns to the .

Two bicycles were reported stolen from an underground garage at the 1600 block of Century Circle.

A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle at the 9800 block of Wynstone Court. (This is the in two weeks.)

Six storage lockers at the 880 block of Weir Drive were burglarized. Locks had been cut and the cord for a motion detector was also severed. A hole was also cut in a chain-link fence. One resident had $5,000 in equipment stolen.

A resident at the 8700 block of Quarry Ridge Lane called police after he noticed that the cover of his garage door keypad had been turned up and the door's handle was also turned. He noted that several other garages in the area also had their handles turned.

A car tire was stolen and replaced with a log. The incident occurred at the 11000 block of Walnut Lane. The lug nuts on the other tires on the 2007 Honda Civic were also loosened.

A $900 scooter was reported stolen from a garage at the 1700 block of Donegal Drive. The resident had mistakenly left open his garage door the night before.
