Police Blotter: Pioneer Park Problems, PO’d at the P.O., Case Case

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

A resident at the 2600 block of Copper Cliff Trail reported that camping equipment that had been shipped to the house was stolen from her front stoop.

A resident at the 6000 block of Glen Road reported that her shed had been entered but nothing was missing.

Police were again called about an individual who works for a bank/lender and assists with determining if a person lives at a certain address. Officers contacted the man—who was spotted taking photos of a home on Sand Castle Drive and told a resident there he was a contractor—to give authorities advance warning next time he is in Woodbury.

Someone moved construction cones into the middle of the street at the 6800 block of Macbeth Court. One was also put on top of a mailbox.

A resident reported seeing a coyote near the intersection of Lake Road and Crestmoor Drive.

A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the 700 block of Lake Ridge Drive. The owner wasn’t sure if she locked it.

Planters were tipped over at a home at the 3000 block of Meadow Brook Court. There were other similar reports in the area.

Police were called about possible illegal dumping on Brookview Road west of Manning Avenue. Officers learned someone was releasing a rabbit.

Police were called to the 10300 block of City Walk Drive after a man, who uses a walker, fell over when a woman’s dog began barking at him in a hallway. An argument ensued, and the man threatened to shoot the dog. He later told officers he lost his temper, had no intention of shooting the animal and there would be no further problems.

Police advised a woman that refusing to leave the because workers refused to accept her package one minute before closing time was not a good solution to her problem. They suggested she file a complaint. She was escorted out without further issue.

A man called police after he dropped off his wife near the —she was drunk and began slapping him after they picked up their children from daycare. Officers found her walking along Valley Creek Road. She was intoxicated and told police there was mutual hitting. She was not injured and said she’s on probation in Hennepin County for second-degree burglary. Officers transported her to the Sun Ray shopping area at her request.

A resident at the 3400 block of Juliet Drive who recently noticed that one of his guns had been stolen called police after a “shady” man he knows as “Meechy” was arrested with stolen weapons. He believed one of the guns might be his. Officers forwarded the information to their counterparts in St. Paul.

A resident who lives near requested extra patrols in the area because juveniles have recently been smoking marijuana, littering, yelling obscenities and being generally disrespectful of the park area.

A resident at the 9100 block of Sierra Court called police after someone hid his scooter, which had been in front of his home, behind a boat down the block. The caller said there have been problems with juvenile mischief in the area and at Pioneer Park.

Police were called about a boat that had been abandoned on . Neighbors said it had been on the lake for more than a week. Washington County authorities have jurisdiction in these instances.

A resident brought three cases of beer stashed behind a tree at the Tamarack Nature Preserve to the Public Safety Department. The resident said the beer and a cooler had been there for at least a week.

Two Oakdale men were cited for theft after they switched their old shoes for new ones at and left the store without paying for them.

A man who had a warrant out for his arrest fled police on foot at the 10200 block of Hudson Road while officers were running his driver’s license. An officer ran him down and he was taken into custody. Police initially questioned the man because he was crouching beneath the dashboard of his vehicle and officers thought he may have been trying to steal it.

Police were called about a possible jumper on the Tamarack Road bridge over Interstate 494. Police learned his car had broken down and he was on the bridge trying to wave to his wife as she drove by. Officers let him use a squad car’s phone to call his wife.

A resident at the 2500 block of Mallard Drive called police after finding damage to the lock on his front door. Nothing was taken.
