Officers were called on a report of a fight at the and found an intoxicated man who had pushed and choked his stepfather.
The assault ended only after his mother and 10-year-old cousin intervened and pleaded with him to stop. He was booked at the Washington County Jail.

Police were later called about a verbal argument near the . Officers spoke with people in the area, who said there was no argument but a man was yelling into his cell phone.
Police got a description of the man and later saw him running southbound across Valley Creek Road into the U.S. Bank parking lot.
Officers learned he was at a wedding reception at , got into a dispute with family members and planned to sleep outside. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, dress pants and no shoes.
Police found him hiding in some bushes near the bank and discovered that it was his brother who had been arrested earlier at the Sheraton.
The two men are from Wisconsin.
