Editor’s note: The city administrator in a later update said these people were “literally run over.” A 2-year-old, 4-year-old and their mother suffered serious injuries as a result of the incident, though they were reported to be in fair condition.

Three Pedestrians Hospitalized After Being Struck on Radio Drive
Three pedestrians were hit by a car Monday while crossing Radio Drive in Woodbury.
A woman and two young children were crossing from the west side of Radio Drive along Central Park Place when a vehicle taking a left turn and heading south out of the Central Park area hit them, Alberio said.
Their injuries are not considered life-threatening, Alberio said. The individuals have been identified as a 28-year-old Oakdale woman and her two children, ages 2 and 4.
The driver has been identified as an 81-year-old woman from Woodbury, according to CBS, and the woman and her children were headed to the R.H. Stafford Branch Library.
It’s not believed that alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident, Alberio said.
It’s thought that both the pedestrians and the car had green lights at the time, Alberio said. The people were in the crosswalk.
Police were planning to interview witnesses, he said.
The State Patrol and Woodbury’s traffic-safety officer will be investigating, Alberio said.
A section of Radio Drive in front of the Public Safety Department was closed off to traffic Monday afternoon.
