Update: Authorities Confirm Woodbury Father Shot Children Before Setting Fire to RV

Woodbury father Anthony DeHaven, 35, shot and killed his children before setting fire to the family RV at the Grand Canyon on Oct. 3.

UPDATE (10:25 a.m., Oct. 14, 2011): Arizona investigators confirmed Thursday that Woodbury resident Anthony DeHaven, 35, shot and killed both of his children before setting fire to his RV and killing himself.

According to a Star Tribune story, the tragic scene was discovered Oct. 3 as the vehicle burned at a gate near the entrance to the Grand Canyon's South Rim.

UPDATE (Oct. 6, 2011): The investigation into a motorhome fire that killed two Woodbury children and their father suggests the incident was possibly a murder-suicide, according to a National Parks Service press release.

ORIGINAL STORY (Oct. 5, 2011): A Woodbury man and his two children were killed in an RV fire in Grand Canyon National Park Monday, the Star Tribune and KARE 11 are reporting.

Anthony DeHaven, 35, and his kids Jersey and Jace DeHaven, in kindergarten and sixth grade respectively at Skyview Community School, were found dead in their RV, the Star Tribune reports.
