Urine Trouble, Leaf Him Alone, State Farm Signal: Woodbury Police Blotter

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

A resident called police because the left-turn arrow at southbound Radio Drive at State Farm Way wasn’t turning green. Officers informed the person that the signal has been disabled because of the closure of the State Farm building.

A man staying at the Red Roof Inn because his Minneapolis home burned down was approached by a woman in the parking lot who asked if she could be his personal care attendant. He agreed and let her stay with him even though he doesn’t need one. He told police all they do is argue and he wanted her removed from the room. Her story was harder to follow, but she admitted she is homeless and works as a personal care attendant, with most of her clients coming from Craigslist. He told police no prostitution occurred and she never tried to scam him.

A woman told police that she believed her estranged husband had poured sugar in her gas tank.

A Nissan Maxima was stolen from an underground parking lot at the 1600 block of Century Circle.

Police advised a company that employees needed to secure a permit to solicit homes in Woodbury.

Police were called about a vehicle at the 2300 block of Fieldstone Curve that has a muffler that sounds like a "helicopter."

Officers were called about a man meandering through backyards at the 2400 block of Hidden Lake Drive. A resident said she thought she saw him place something on the ground behind her home but police didn’t find anything suspicious.

Police were called about a man who approached a home on Walnut Lane and asked a resident for a glass of water. Officers arrived and found he was part of a drywall crew but later learned he is a registered sex offender. Police were following up with the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

Police advised a resident who swore at a neighbor in front of his children (because of an issue with leaves along the property line) not to do that in the future.

A resident called police to say she thought a home at the 2400 block of Eagle Trace Lane was running a puppy mill or selling birds out of the home. She told police the home has a lot of short-term traffic. Officers advised her to contact the homeowners association and have them look into it.

A resident called police to report that an infant in a vehicle at the Post Office parking lot had been left unattended for 15 minutes. The car was gone by the time police arrived.

A Walmart employee was cited for misdemeanor theft after she obtained $116.99 from the store through various schemes.

A Fairway Terrace resident reported that a box of dinnerware delivered to the home had been opened and had bubble wrap exposed. The box had been moved to the driveway, as well, but nothing was taken.

A resident called police because she thought she was being followed after she left Perkins. Police determined: “No other activity noted other than two vehicles going in the same direction.”

Police were called about a physical domestic incident at the 1000 block of Drew Drive during a custody exchange. Both parties accused the other of pushing; both denied it.

Officers were called to the parking lot of New Life Academy on a report of a suspicious situation. Police arrived and found a group of girls who said they were planning to play a prank on the boys basketball team, which was having a shut-in event that night. “We advised the females that their mischief was gathering complaints. The females understood and went home.”

Someone cut a strand of Christmas lights at a home at the 700 block of Winterberry Drive.

A home at the 2800 block of Eagle Valley Circle was toilet-papered and had syrup poured on a vehicle in the driveway.

A resident saw a man urinate into a plastic bottle in the parking lot of Seasons Park. He then placed the bottle on the ground. When she asked him if he was going to pick it up, he drove off.

A resident called police about a man who appeared to be vomiting in his stopped vehicle near the intersection of Woodcrest and Valley Creek drives. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation near Upper Afton Road and Weir Drive and an officer found that juveniles in the car had been drinking. They were left with a parent and cited for underage drinking.

A call about a possible fire at the 200 block of Pendryn Hill Curve turned out to be steam from a dryer vent.

A resident called police after a man claiming to work for a cable company came to a home that was empty and for sale.

A customer at Walmart got upset and started yelling profanities at employees because he was upset that he couldn’t return an item. He had calmed down before police arrived.
