Woodbury FD Responds To Kitchen Fire At Apartment Building

Someone left a burner on after cooking; no one was injured.

The was able to contain a kitchen fire in an apartment building at the 1700 block of Century Circle on Saturday.

No one was injured in the fire, which started after a resident left on a stovetop burner after cooking fried chicken, said Sgt. Neil Bauer of the Woodbury Police Department.

The second-floor unit was unoccupied; the building was evacuated, Bauer said.

The kitchen sustained some damage but the rest of the apartment was unscathed, Bauer said.

The fire department got the call at 4:56 p.m. on Saturday. The Oakdale Fire Department also responded.
