The homeowner—a woman who was home with her four children (all under the age of 7)—called police to report that a naked man had broken into her home.

She heard loud noises coming from downstairs, grabbed a flashlight and went to investigate.

She saw the front door of her home being forced open and the naked man entered, yelling something she couldn’t understand. The home’s alarm had also been tripped.

She yelled at him to leave, and he initially did so, but when he tried to get back inside she hit him with the flashlight and he fled.

When officers arrived, she told them the suspect was Rowell, a son of one her neighbors.

Police went to the nearby home and Rowell answered the door in the nude and told officers, “I’ve been waiting for you.”

He was arrested and handcuffed, and while police were treating injuries to his face he spat at officers. Police then placed a spit mask on Rowell.

During a Dec. 12, 2012, interview with police Rowell said he was staying at his parents house the day of the incident and took five shots of vodka at 11 a.m. before blacking out at about noon. He said he didn’t remember anything after that and admitted he has a problem with alcohol.

The estimated damage to the door was nearly $4,000.
