Woodbury Man Convicted For Snatching Snow Blower From Local Church

Cameron Matthew Sammet, 19, initially denied stealing the Toro Power Max snow blower estimated to be worth $1,599.

A 19-year-old Woodbury man was sentenced to 17 months in prison for stealing a snow blower from and trying to sell it on Craig's List

But a Washington County judge stayed the execution of the sentence for five years provided Cameron Matthew Sammet adheres to a number of conditions, including a cognitive-skills evaluation, and a pay $450 restitution. 

Sammet was also ordered to serve 120 days in jail on an in-custody Sentence to Service program.

According to a Washington County criminal complaint, Sammet broke into a shed behind the church between Jan. 23-24 and stole a Toro Power Max 828 snow blower worth an estimated $1,599. 

Sammet then took pictures of the item and tried to sell it on Craig's List for $200.

staked out Sammet's home at the 7600 block of Dunmore Road and eventually found the Craig's List ad, which included a phone number and email address for Sammet, the complaint says.

In a post-arrest interview, Sammet denied knowing anything about the snow blower and blamed the entire ordeal on his stepbrother.
