Woodbury Man Tells Police ‘Come and Get Me,’ Arrested on Suspicion of Meth Possession

Robert Dean Stein, 45, faces a felony drug charge.

Woodbury police were called in November 2012 on a report of a man harassing passers-by on the street, and he was later charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Robert Dean Stein, 45, recently made his first court appearance on the fifth-degree drug charge.

Police were called to the 1600 block of Lamplight Drive on Nov. 15 on a report of a man in his front yard harassing people, and made contact with Stein, who was on probation for gross misdemeanor DWI, according to the criminal complaint. One of the conditions of his probation is that he abstains from alcohol and mood-altering chemicals.

An officer noticed signs of intoxication in Stein and the odor of alcohol on his breath, the complaint says.

He then taunted officers, saying “Come and get me,” and retreated into home, according to the complaint.

Police obtained an apprehension and detention order from Stein’s probation officer and entered the house, where they found a bottle of vodka and later a bag of methamphetamine on his person when he was searched at the Washington County Jail, according to the complaint.

If convicted, Stein faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine on the felony drug charge.

A search of state records shows he has three previous DWI charges.
