Woodbury PD Blotter: Aug. 25-30

Fights, attempted burglary, indecent exposure, disorderly conduct at Woodbury Days highlight recent calls to police.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

Copper pipes, along with water and electrical lines, were reported stolen from construction sites at the 11000 block of Aster Way and the 11000 block of Ivywood Bay on Aug. 25.

A resident at the 8800 block of Sequoia Court called police on Aug. 25 after her home was hit with paintballs the night before. She told police she felt it was part of escalating activity in the area and may have been related to a Nov. 6, 2010, incident in which she found six juvenile boys in her yard. She rinsed the siding on her home but was unsure if there was permanent damage.

A resident at the 2600 block of Brittany Lane called police on Aug. 25 after a neighbor told her someone had come up to her house and was snooping around while she was away.

A resident at the 8400 block of Timberwood Court called police on 25 after the home was hit by tomatoes for the second night in a row. The caller told police the incident may have been racially motivated.

Two mountain bikes valued at $250 each were reported stolen from a home at the 6700 block of Orchard Ridge Trail on Aug. 26. The bikes were unsecured in the home’s driveway.

A man who left his gym bag unattended for 40 seconds while he was brushing his hair at Lifetime Fitness on Aug. 27 returned to his locker to find that his $700 iPad had been stolen.

A on Aug. 27 turned out to be unfounded.

Several people were drinking at a home at the 2200 block of Cypress Drive on Aug. 27 when an altercation ensued. One woman became upset and threw a beer bottle at the head of another person. A neighbor came over after hearing the fight and restrained the woman by her arm and near her neck. The woman—observed by police to be drunk—later called authorities to say the neighbor had strangled her but didn’t want to press charges. Police advised the parties involved not to let incidents escalate to the point of physical confrontations. The incident was cleared.

Two bicycles valued at $200 each were reported stolen from the 2300 block of Queens Drive on Aug. 28. The bikes were left unlocked on the front lawn of a home.

An unlocked garage at the 200 block of Meadow Lane was entered and a resident’s car was rifled through on Aug. 28. Nothing was stolen or damaged.

A garage door opener and phone charger were stolen from a vehicle parked at the 6200 block of Linden Road on Aug. 28.

Police were called to the Target on Commerce Drive after a man exposed himself to two female customers. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the man.

A juvenile boy was arrested during Woodbury Days on Aug. 28 after he was shouting at police and riling up a group of teenagers who were with him. He became physically confrontational toward officers and taken to the ground. He was later released to his mother.

A woman at on Aug. 28 was cited for disorderly conduct after she was swearing at people and officers. She was in a parking lot when she swore at a man and his 13-year-old daughter and attempted to spit in the man’s face.

A ceramic rabbit lawn ornament was reported stolen from a home at the 500 block of Markgrafs Lake Bay on Aug. 28.

Someone removed a window at Aveka, Inc., and stole a $2,000 laptop computer from inside the business. The incident was reported on Aug. 29.

A $7,000 skid loader was reported stolen from a construction site at 1800 block of Deephaven Drive on Aug. 29.

A motorcycle valued at $13,000 was reported stolen from an underground garage the 1500 block of Parkwood Drive on Aug. 29.

A St. Paul man was arrested near the 1500 block of Parkwood Drive on Aug. 30 after residents spotted him entering an unlocked vehicle. When officers arrived, the man fled but was quickly captured. He was booked at the Washington County Jail for tampering with a motor vehicle.
