Woodbury PD Blotter: Coach Punched, Cat Caper, 'Boulder-dash'

Selected calls to the Woodbury Police Department from Jan. 26 through Feb. 1.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

Jan. 26

The manager of a Sherrie Lane apartment complex called police after a former tenant, whose lease was terminated, was repeatedly harassing him via the phone and mail. The former occupant was upset about a damage deposit not being returned and in one letter wrote he would “do what he had to do.” The manager wanted the incident documented.

A employee admitted to stealing two sets of headphones and two Xbox games over a one and a half year timeframe.

A resident at the 2400 block of Fieldstone Curve called police about a possible prowler after finding suspicious footprints in the snow around her home. Police learned that they came from a neighbor who was looking for his loose dog.

A resident at the 1000 block of Saint Johns Bay called police to report two snowmobilers on the pond near the home. They were gone by the time police arrived.

A briefcase was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at .

Police were called to a wrestling meet at after the mother of a Stillwater Area High School wrestler punched a Ponies assistant coach in the face twice. The coach had told her that “the bench is no place for parents.” He did not report any injures and wanted the incident documented.

A man was reclining in his car while waiting for his children to finish up karate class at the 500 block of Bielenberg Drive when someone came up to his vehicle and apparently tried to break into it. The man in the car confronted the individual, who had used a flashlight to look into the vehicle and tried the door handle. He was apologetic when confronted and left the area.

Jan. 27

A resident at the 10200 block of Grand Isle Place called police after she and a man were having an argument via Facebook in which he said he planned to rob her. She told him not to come over, but he said he was still going to rob her at some point. Police gave the woman information about obtaining an order for protection and asked her to call if he comes over. The man has two felony warrants out for his arrest.

Jan. 28

Police stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Interstate 94 and Manning Avenue for erratic driving and cited a Hudson, Wis., man for DWI.

A resident at the 2100 block of Grand Birch Lane called police to report that maintenance workers were entering her home without permission.

Two men attempted to steal a flare gun and flares from . When confronted at the exit, they dropped the items and fled.

Employees at called police after two juvenile females apparently stole a 6-month-old cat. The animal has an implanted microchip and police were investigating.

workers called police after two men were drunk and out of control in the establishment. One threatened to kill people. Police removed both men without further incident.

Jan. 29

A utility box at the 1100 block of Scarborough Lane was spray-painted with “anon” in cursive.

Police were called about a boulder on Interstate 494 south of Valley Creek Road. Officer determined it was a pillow and the object was not impeding traffic.

A resident at the 9000 block of Pinehurst Road called police after hearing footsteps outside her bedroom window. She also told police there were unexplained footprints around the home and requested extra patrols because there has been a recent increase in criminal activity in the area.

Jan. 30

A resident at the 7800 block of Drake Road called police to report that her garage door and those of neighbors’ have been going up and down on their own recently. She did not lose her garage-door opener or have stolen.

A coin-operated vacuum system at was reported broken into.

The was called to the Hudson Road after 12-15 gallons of gas spilled from a pump. State officials were called and they handled the situation.

Jan. 31

Employees at the called police after smelling the odor of burnt marijuana coming from a room and overheard a guest saying, “That’s some good weed.” Officers checked the room with negative results.

Police spotted a motorist near Tamarack Road and Woodduck Drive throwing a cigarette out her window, and checked the driver’s license plate number and found that the woman had a warrant out for her arrest. She was taken into custody and booked at the Washington County Jail.

Feb. 1

A water main at a home at the 2200 block of Cameron Drive broke and was spewing large amounts of water into the street. Woodbury Public Works crews handled the situation.
