Woodbury PD Blotter: Dumpster Diving, Dog Custody Dispute, ‘Snake Out’

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

A employee called police after a window on his car was broken out and a garage-door opener was stolen.

Police were called to a home at the 2500 block of Wimbledon Place after residents thought they heard a snake hissing inside or underneath a couch. A community-service officer was dispatched the home but did not find any snakes.

A mailbox at the 6700 block of Sandlewood Road was broken. The homeowner told police its wooden stand appeared to have been broken with a blunt object.

An employee at called police after a man was seen in the parking lot asking people for money and following and harassing them if they didn’t hand over any cash. He was gone by the time police arrived.

Police were called to the 8600 block of Hudson Road after two women was seen taking food from a dumpster near . Police advised the women that the city prohibits such acts and gave them a verbal warning.

A 2004 Ford F-150 was reported stolen from the 6700 block of Ashwood Road. A man had started the truck and went into a home to get his kids and returned to find the vehicle missing. St. Paul police later located the truck; several items were missing, including two compound hunting bows valued at $400 total.

A bus driver taking students to a school in Oak Park Heights called police after overhearing that two students might have had drugs on them. Police found that they had cigars.

A Woodbury woman’s purse was stolen from her trunk while it was parked at the . Her credit card company called her about a charge at a St. Paul gas station. The purse also contained an iPod.

Someone attempted to steal a vehicle parked at the 1600 block of Century Circle. The steering column was broken and wires were exposed and the vehicle was backed up about four feet in a parking stall. The Toyota had been broken into the week before had no glass on the driver-side window.

A purple women’s bicycle worth $500 was reported stolen from the driveway of a home at the 10500 block of Golden Eagle Trail.

Police were able to lift fingerprints from a vehicle in a garage at the 1200 block of Pinewood Court that was broken into. Nothing was taken and it was assumed that the vehicle was the target of the break-in.

A purse, iPhone, camera, pills of Vicodin and other items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the lot at . The driver-side window was broken. The victim called police to say she used a “track my iPhone” function, which showed the phone was in St. Paul. St. Paul police checked the area without success.

A resident at the 900 block of Moonlight Drive called police after receiving a text message that read: “Do you need some pills? I know somebody with some.”

A 2003 Toyota Camry was reported stolen from the 10800 block of Kingsfield Lane.

Two vehicles at the 700 block of Interlachen Draw were broken into and a GPS device was stolen from both. One was parked in a driveway and the other was in the garage.

A resident at the 2100 block of Woodcrest Drive called police to complain about noise from new home construction nearby. The caller thought it was against city ordinance to do construction on nights and weekends. Police determined there was no violation.

A vehicle parked at the 6900 block of Stratford Draw was rummaged through but nothing was taken.

Police were called to the 11000 block of Oak Grove Circle about a dog custody dispute. A woman told police that she and her ex-boyfriend had purchased a dog together and agreed on a custody arrangement after they broke up. But she said her ex did not allow visitation on the last agreed upon day. She asked police about her options; they told her to contact Washington County civil court and that they could not award custody of the animal or enforce their arrangement.

A GPS device was stolen from a car at the 700 block of Spring Hill Circle.

A small brush fire broke out near but was put out with a bucket of water. The also saturated the immediate area.

A Woodbury woman called police about a continuing stalking issue with her ex-husband. She forwarded to Woodbury police a report from Cottage Grove that involved her ex waiting outside a hotel for five hours in order to take a picture of her, put it in their wedding album and give it to her. An order-for-protection form was filled out and police advised the woman further on ways to deal with the situation.

A television, speakers, stereo equipment and possibly other items were reported stolen from a storage locker at the on Wooddale Drive.

A resident at the 6200 block of Oakwood Road told police he took a Lorazepam and went to sleep the night before to discover the next day that $112 in cash was missing from his wallet (which was left behind) and a bottle of prescription pills was also taken (other medication was left behind). The front door had been left unlocked.

A home at the 3800 block of Fairway Terrace was burglarized. (The initial report did not provide further details.)

A shoplifter with nearly $200 worth of children’s clothing was busted at . The St. Paul man was cooperative, admitted to stealing the items and was taken into custody.

Woodbury police assisted with a call from Lake Elmo about someone trying to steal a snowmobile from a home at the 11000 block of 12th Street North. The report is brief, but authorities were .
