Woodbury PD Blotter: Feces Flinging, Pumpkin Problems, Car Concerns

Selected calls to the Woodbury Police Department from Oct. 6-11.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

Oct. 6

A Pennsylvania resident reported that his car was keyed while it was parked at .

A woman who was with her child at the playground called police after a man came up to her and told her “how beautiful your daughter is” and “come to India with me.” She told police she didn’t feel threatened but was uncomfortable. She wanted the incident documented in case there were any other similar reports.

Oct. 7

A resident called police after noticing that a back patio door was broken at a home at the 6700 block of Lydia Lane. There was a concern that it might have been an attempted break-in, but police learned that the glass door was broken in a lawnmower accident.

Credit cards and $25 in cash were stolen from a man’s wallet while it was in an unsecured locker at Gold’s Gym.

Oct. 8

The responded to a call about sparks coming from an electrical line after a tree branch fell on it. The incident occurred at the 600 block of Hattie Lane.

A resident at the 2900 block of McKinley Drive called police to report that someone was hunting in the area. Police did not locate any hunters.

Someone ripped open a box that was delivered to the 7800 block of Somerset Court and stole two ink cartridges from it.

A pumpkin was smashed and decorations were stolen from a home at the 1200 block of Woodhill Drive.

The Woodbury Fire Department put out an electrical fire caused by a bathroom fan at the 7900 block of Pinehurst Road. The fire was contained the bathroom and some attic space.

A resident called police after a driver in a black Mitsubishi at Arby’s was bragging about being drunk. Police were unable to locate the vehicle. The caller was unable to get the license plate number.

Oct. 9

The Woodbury Fire Department put out a small brush fire at the 6300 block of Tahoe Place. Juveniles in the area accused another group of young people of setting the fire.

A resident at the 2300 block of Cochrane Drive called police after she suspected that a neighbor had thrown dog feces at her home. There have been ongoing issues between the neighbors. The caller said the neighbor’s daughter walked past her house and said, “Look what my mommy did,” and pointed to the feces.

A Woodbury man called police about what he thought was a suspicious bag at Cub Foods. Police found it was filled with leaves.

Oct. 11

Police made contact with two East Ridge students who were suspected of drinking alcohol at a bus stop before school. One registered a trace amount of alcohol in his system.

A resident who reported that her son’s bike was stolen on Sept. 13 called police to report the theft and learned that it already had been recovered. The bicycle was returned.

A resident at the 10600 block of Brookview Place called police to report an ongoing problem with a neighbor that included people often coming and going, cars intentionally shining their lights into his home and loud mufflers, among other complaints. The caller was being argumentative, though police said they would look into the matter, and he hung up.
