Woodbury PD Blotter: Gay Accusation, Fridge Theft, Intoxicated Parental Pickup

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

A vehicle in a garage at the 1500 block of Parkwood Drive was broken into and two DVD monitors were stolen. The rear passenger window and two rear quarter windows were broken. There were other similar incidents reported in the area, including the 1700 block of Century Circle.

A man dressed in a Le Cordon Bleu shirt who witnesses said had herpes around his lips pulled a dine and dash at . He rang up $37.81 in charges.

An apparently homeless man who was sleeping at the Tamarack Village for three hours left without incident. He told police he did not want to go to a shelter and did not identify himself.

A resident at the 1000 block of Cedarwood Drive stopped an officer on routine patrol to report a previous burglary. The woman told police that someone stole a Tupperware jar full of Canadian change and dollars. No other items were missing.

Police were called to after a drunken woman drove away from the bar. An employee tried to stop the woman from leaving and she attempted to hit him. Police checked the area (they were called 10 minutes later) but were unable to locate the vehicle.

maintenance workers called police to report that they saw someone stealing items from vehicles. The suspect ran from the scene. Among the items stolen were two bowling balls and a sawzall valued at $200.

A Bobcat skid-steer valued at $35,000 was reported stolen from the building on Bielenberg Drive. A worker said he had last seen it after plowing on New Year’s Day and was unsure when it was taken.

A resident at the 800 block of Tamberwood Trail contacted police about a vehicle possibly involved in . Police located the vehicle and found that it was a real estate agent distributing flyers.

A Woodbury woman contacted police after her ex-boyfriend continued to contact her about a ring he gave her when they were together. She told officers he has a history of violence and she felt unsafe. Officers put her in touch with Tubman and she gave them the ring until he was able to pick it up.

An intoxicated man at Wild Bill’s was yelling at staff and threw a rock at the building. Police took the man into custody and transported him to his aunt’s house. He is not to visit the bar for 30 days.

No one was injured in a single-car rollover crash at the intersection of Interstate 494 and Valley Creek Road.

A assisted the State Patrol in a traffic stop that uncovered marijuana “shake” on the car’s floorboards.

An intoxicated and disorderly Oak Park Heights man at the was yelling at employees and refused to leave. An officer handcuffed the man, but he continued to yell and would not calm down. There was a strong odor of alcohol on him and he was transported to Dakota County detox.

A pole barn at the 5100 block of Woodlane Drive was broken into and $40 worth of conduit piping was stolen. Meanwhile, police were called to the 6200 block of Glen Road, where someone stole a truck and left a stolen truck behind. Officers found matching footprints at both locations. 

Police were called to Life Time Fitness after a Maplewood man said another man at the club was always watching him while he was doing sit-ups, getting out of the shower and sitting in the hot tub. He told police the other man "looked gay." While in the locker room, he told the man: "Do I know you? I'm not gay." A verbal altercation ensued. Police gave the Maplewood man tips for handling the situation.

Residents at the 1000 block of Interlachen Parkway called police after a smart phone was stolen the night before. The couple’s children had had friends over, but they all denied taking the phone.

A worker who is going through a divorce called police to the restaurant after her husband showed up with flowers and gifts but was told to leave. He then muttered that he was going to kill to Perkins workers, she told police.

A resident at the 2600 block of Horseshoe Lane called police after seeing a few juveniles who were apparently smoking marijuana in a car outside the house. They were gone by the time police arrived and the resident did not obtain a license plate number.

A refrigerator, microwave and stove were reported stolen from a rental unit at the 3400 block of Cherry Lane. The landlord told police she had evicted that unit’s tenant for unpaid rent and later found that the items were missing. The former resident, however, told police that the landlord’s boyfriend is a “doper” and was trying to pin the theft on him. Police are investigating.

A resident at the 10700 block of Thone Road called police after noticing a fraudulent charge on his bank statement. He went through his records and found that his August statement was missing and assumed it was stolen from his mailbox. The city recently .

Police were called to after a worker thought a woman who came pick up her child was drunk or high. The employee told police the woman sat in her car for 30 minutes before coming inside, and when she did she was glassy-eyed, smelled of marijuana and was acting differently than she normally does. Police were unable to locate the woman’s vehicle and attempts to contact her were unsuccessful.
