Woodbury PD Blotter: Gun And Mooning, Theft By Grinch, Theater Theatrics

Selected calls to the Woodbury Police Department from Dec. 22-28.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

Dec. 22

Three GMC trucks were reported stolen from behind the Sinclair gas station on Century Avenue. The trucks belong to KS Energy.

Dec. 23

A motorist stopped for going 91 mph in 40 mph zone and running a light near the intersection of Century Avenue and Upper Afton Road was cited for DWI. The St. Paul woman registered a .23 on a preliminary breath test.

A motorist stopped for several driving violations was cited for DWI. The Savage man registered a .16 on a preliminary breath test.

Two men who were taking a cab from Hugo to Maplewood refused to pay the full total for the ride after the cab driver got turned around. Police arrived and they agreed to pay the bill.

A vehicle in an underground garage at the 1600 block of Century Circle was reported stolen. The car, a 1997 Acura, was later recovered in St. Paul.

No one was injured in a rollover accident at the Interstates 94 and 494 intersection.

Three people got into a fight at the on Woodlane Drive. The incident apparently started after one man was upset that someone had parked close to the air pump at the convenience store.

Dec. 24

An ongoing dispute between neighbors at the 10600 block of Brookview Place escalated when one man sat out on his front porch and loaded a shotgun. The man then parked his car so vehicles at the other home couldn’t get out, and then proceeded to “moon” the people there, who were gathered to mourn the passing of a family member. He was arrested.

Three women tried to steal a number of items from but were stopped by employees. The items were recovered.

employees called police after someone tried to purchase gift cards with a written-down credit card number, which is against store policy. The individual fled and got into a waiting vehicle, which sped from the scene.

Christmas gifts were reported stolen from a detached garage at the 9300 block of Parkside Echo. In all, more than $1,000 worth of presents were taken.

Dec. 25

Police were called to the after an argument over seats between two groups of people ended with one person dumping a soda onto another person’s lap.

Dec. 26

A resident at the 2700 block of Horseshoe Lane called police after some people came to his door to talk about the bible but refused to show identification. Police learned they were Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Someone unsuccessfully tried to break into . The same thing happened at Salon 755.

A home at the 300 block of Sherrie Lane was egged.

Rims and tires valued at $2,424 total were reported stolen from a garage at the 6700 block of Ashwood Road.

A resident at the 1000 block of Schooner Way came home to find a woman rummaging through her car. The person fled to a waiting vehicle, which sped away. Nothing was taken, though a second vehicle in the area was also rummaged through.

A man who ran up a $261 bill and was buying drinks for other patrons at . Police learned who the man was and made contact over the phone. The man was drunk and said he didn’t have the money and would be unable to pay. The man’s wife a short time later called the bar and paid the tab.

Dec. 27

Several items were reported stolen from a vehicle at the 1500 block of Deephaven Drive.

Dec. 28

Several items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the 2300 block of Lamplight Drive.
