Woodbury PD Blotter: Sept. 9-13

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

A student who brought a small baggie of marijuana to on Sept. 9 said he found the drugs at and was told to write a two-and-a-half page paper on marijuana and its effects. The marijuana was destroyed and he was released to his mother.

A man stole about $500 worth of merchandise from and sped off in his vehicle on Sept. 9, and left his wife and children at the store. Police spoke with the woman, who told them of his whereabouts.

A fight over a parking space broke out at on Sept. 9. An individual who was punched in the face requested no police action.

A 1995 Honda Accord was reported stolen from the 6900 block of Ashwood Road on Sept. 10.

A resident at the 1800 block of Catalina Drive called police on Sept. 10 to report that about 30 pieces of firewood had been stolen from his backyard sometime during the past week.

Woodbury police and firefighters were called to the on Sept. 10 after . The St. Paul bomb squad was called in to remove the canister.

A resident who lives about three-quarters of a mile from called police on Sept. 10 to complain about the noise coming from the football field. He told authorities the music is too loud and is “hurting the kids playing sports.” He also told police the music choices of rap and heavy metal are inappropriate. It was the third or fourth time he has lodged similar complaints. Police said they would forward his concerns to the school.

A Woodbury resident reported that his wallet was stolen while he was at at on Sept. 10.

A resident at the 2400 block of Sumac Way told police that two armed men came to his door and asked for $150 the man’s friend owed them. He threatened to call 9-11 and they left.

Workers at Wal-Mart called police on Sept. 11 after a minivan was parked there overnight—two people appeared to be living out of the minivan and were making rude comments to customers. Police gave them directions to the nearest rest stop and they left the area.

A group of juveniles lit a small gas can on fire at the 6100 block of Courtly Road on Sept. 11. The handled the fire and officers checked the area but were unable to locate the juveniles.

Police were called to the SuperAmerica on Woodlane Drive on Sept. 11 on a theft report. Police found the stolen goods and a small amount of marijuana. One individual was arrested for theft and another was cited for the drugs.

For the third week in a row a home at the 9000 block of Brentwood Trail was vandalized, this time with toilet paper. Also, the home’s mailbox was wrapped in plastic and a vehicle was written on with soap.

A Jeep Cherokee was reported stolen from the 6200 block of Linden Road on Sept. 11.

The garage door of a home at the 3200 block of Juliet Drive was smeared with spaghetti sauce and eggs during the overnight hours of Sept. 10-11. A similar incident happened at another home on that block, as well.

Ornamental lions were reported stolen from a home at the 10000 block of Bridgewater Court on Sept. 11.

A portable toilet at Seasons Park was set on fire on Sept. 12.

A man who lives at the 2200 block of Tower Court was arrested for fifth-degree domestic assault on Sept. 13.

A group of people left Cravings on Sept. 13 without paying for their $42.27 tab.
