Woodbury PD Blotter: Tee-Box Turmoil, Unkempt Equine, Mulch Removal

Selected calls to the Woodbury Public Safety Department from Oct. 13-18.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

Oct. 13

A Chevy Silverado—which had hundreds of dollars worth of tools in it—was stolen from a garage at the 2400 block of Aspen Place. Two voltage testers were also stolen from the garage. The truck was later recovered in Pierce County along with another vehicle stolen from Hastings.

An iPod was stolen from an student’s locker and the perpetrator was spotted on surveillance video. The same student also stole a calculator from the locker the week before.

Police were called about an incident involving a couple near the on Lake Road Terrace. The woman was reportedly yelling at the man and taking her clothes off. Police later found a leather jacket on the side of the road that belonged to the woman.

Workers at , which is currently being remodeled, called police after $10 was stolen from a table. Workers had left $30 out on the table for a pizza order.

A bicycle was reported stolen from the 11000 block of Eagle View Boulevard. The bike was not locked up.

Oct. 14

The Woodbury Fire Department was called to a home at the 2700 block of Edgewater Drive after an overheated sump pump in the basement was smoking.

A man who was harassing customers at left without incident after police arrived.

The passenger-side window of a car was broken and a purse was stolen while the vehicle was parked at . The victim is a parent who was chaperoning a field trip.

A resident called police to report that two horses at the Jordan Ranch seemed unkempt. Officers made contact with the owners, who were very upset and refused to let them see the animals. The owners were advised that police would follow up in the coming days.

Oct. 15

At , tables and chairs were tipped over, tee-maker balls were pulled from the ground, trashcans were tipped over and a sign was removed from a door.

A purse was stolen from a vehicle in an unsecured garage at the 1000 block of Sprucewood Drive. The purse was later found at a nearby park; there was still some change in a wallet.

Police were called to after a man was spotted trying to steal mulch from a large pile. The man had 12 buckets of mulch and thought it was free. Officers made him put it back.

Police stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Valley Creek Road and Donegal Drive for having a headlight out and found marijuana and paraphernalia in the car. The 18-year-old was cited and released.

A resident at the 6000 block of Garbe Avenue called police after hearing four gunshots in the area. Police didn’t find anything suspicious.

Oct. 16

A resident at the 6100 block of Birchwood Road called police after she thought she heard gunshots. Police determined it was fireworks.

A home at the 3200 block of Camelot Drive was vandalized. Pumpkins were smashed, the driveway was egged, trees were toilet-papered, chocolate syrup was sprayed on the garage, flour was dumped in the yard, bleach was poured over plants and garbage cans were tipped over.

Police were called to after a man thought his $51 cab ride was going to be free under a safe and sober campaign. He agreed to pay the fare.

The Woodbury Fire Department put out a dryer fire at the 2400 block of Copper Cliff Trail.

A microwave was stolen and a refrigerator, dishwasher and wall were damaged at a model home at the 1600 block of Headwaters Lane.

Oct. 17

Juveniles were caught smoking marijuana during the East Ridge homecoming game.

A bicycle was reported stolen from an underground garage at the 1500 block of Parkwood Drive.

Oct. 18

A student walking to was approached by a man in his early 20s who asked her if he could walk to school with her after tapping her on her shoulder. She told officers it was “creepy” and police told her to call them if she sees him again.

A resident at the 2400 block of Eagle Trace Lane called police to report a loose cat. Officers were unable to locate the animal.
