Woodbury Police Blotter: March 10-15

A relatively slow week for the Woodbury Police Department included calls about $2,400 worth of wooden pallets stolen from Bailey Nursery.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

Police were called about a March 10 road rage incident near the AT&T store on Valley Creek Plaza. A verbal confrontation ensued after a vehicle was parked in the middle of the parking lanes in the lot.

Woodbury police pulled over a vehicle for having expired tabs on March 10 and learned that the driver had a warrant out for his arrest in Hennepin County.

Bailey Nurseries, Inc., reported that 300 wood pallets worth $2,400 total were stolen during the overnight hours of March 10-11. Employees told police it was the second time pallets had been stolen in the last month.

The front license plate of a 1996 Pontiac was reported stolen while the vehicle was parked behind Great Clips at Woodbury Village on March 11.

Strong winds turned a traffic light at Hudson Road near Tamarack so it was facing the wrong direction on March 11. Police notified Public Works about the matter.

Police were called to the Starbucks on Tamarack Village on March 11 after a homeless man bothered customers, talked loudly on his cell phone, dug through the dumpster and fell asleep and was snoring at a table. The man told police he “hated this country” and said he laughs when officers are shot and killed.

Woodbury police were called to a home near Fox Run Road and Woodbury Drive on March 11 after juveniles were seen pouring gas onto a driveway and lighting it on fire.

A woman reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse while she was grocery shopping at Wal-Mart.

Two backpacks, cash, a laptop computer and other items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the Woodbury 10 Theatre on March 11.

A handbag was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the 7300 block of Paul Road on March 12. On that same block on the same day a different vehicle was reported rummaged through and loose change was stolen.

While doing random license plate checks on March 12 police learned that a driver of a vehicle had a warrant out for his arrest. Police arrested the man without incident.

Two iPod Touch devices valued at nearly $300 each were reported stolen from Wal-Mart on March 12.

Police were called to the Hampton Inn on March 12 on a report that two men were fighting on the third floor. Police determined that no assault occurred and the registered guests were allowed to stay.

Police were called to Tuesday Morning on Hudson Road on March 13 after a $500 vacuum cleaner and $100 in bedding was reported stolen. 

Employees at Wal-Mart took a man into custody after he tried to steal seven pairs of pants valued at $124 total. Police arrested the man without incident.

Several items, including a GPS, sunglasses, a computer bag and pocketknife, were reported stolen from a vehicle at the 1000 block of Pelto Patch on March 15.
