Woodbury Police Blotter: March 3-7
Police responded to theft, an opossum problem and two vehicles that had their tires stolen and were left on their axles.
The following information was obtained from recent police reports.
A man who runs a clothing business out of his home at the 1000 block of Interlachen Parkway had more than $650 worth of clothing stolen from his front yard on March 3. The items were in boxes to be mailed. He left his home for half an hour during the day, only to find them missing when he returned. Police found footprints that indicate someone parked in the cul-de-sac and walked up to the man’s mailbox and took the items.
A man at called police on March 3 after noticing that two rings valued at $4,500 each and a painting were missing from his garage at the 700 block of Independence Way. He told police he thinks his ex-wife stole the items.

Police were called to the MGM Liquor Warehouse on March 3 after a bottle of vodka was stolen. Three people entered the store together and one of the individuals stuffed the bottle up his shirt, according to police accounts after watching surveillance video.
A resident called police on March 4 after the steering column and ignition on a Chevy van were broken. It appeared someone tried to steal it from an underground garage at the 7000 block of Guider Drive.

Police were called to the 7000 block of Rimbley Road on March 4 after several items, including a GPS valued at $150, were stolen from a vehicle.
A Woodbury woman called police on March 4 when she noticed that $1,180 was missing from her purse. She discovered the missing cash while at the bank and told police she assumed the money was stolen from her purse while she briefly went into her workplace at the 1700 block of Woodlane Drive and left her car unlocked.
Police were called to the 2600 block of Cornelia Trail on March 4 on a report of an opossum in the yard. Officers helped remove the animal later released it at Carver Lake Park.
Woodbury firefighters were called to the 6600 block of Stratford Road after a fireplace fire got out of control.
Police were called to Throwbacks Bar and Grill on March 4 on a report of a fight. Employees told officers that a woman had hit a man in the head with a beer bottle. The woman told police the man was hitting on her and her friends and denied striking him with the beer bottle, but admitted they were knocking his hat off his head. None of the people involved were from Woodbury.
Police were called to the 2200 block of Cypress Drive after a window was broken out on a Mazda Protégé. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle.
Woodbury police were called to assist another agency after a man was impersonating a police officer at a SuperAmerica gas station in Newport. The man questioned a driver about a vehicle-weight violation and identified himself as a Department of Transportation officer.
A 1996 black Honda Accord was reported stolen from the Woodbury 10 Theatre on March 5. The vehicle was later found near the Target on Valley Creek Plaza.
Police were called to Axel’s Bonfire on March 6 after a GMC Sierra pickup truck was broken into and several items and tools were stolen.
Tires and rims were reported stolen from a 2001 Dodge Ram while it was parked at the 8200 block of Hudson Road on March 7. The vehicle was left on its axles. Additional items were also stolen from the truck. A similar incident was reported on a 1996 Chevy Blazer, which was also left on its axles after the tires were stolen while it was parked in the area.
A man reported on March 7 that his tow truck was stolen while it was parked at Abra Auto Body.
A man at the 6800 block of Macbeth Court told police on March 7 that his ex-girlfriend had threatened to kill him. The couple has two children together and they broke up about a month ago.
Police were called to the Early Childhood Family Education office at Central Park on March 7 after an employee with the city’s Public Works Department noticed a break-in that apparently happened the night before. Police were able to obtain video of teenage suspects.
