Workers Not Happy With Getting Half Pay for Half Work: Woodbury Police Blotter

Selected calls to the Woodbury Public Safety Department from Nov. 14 to Nov. 20, 2013.

The following information was obtained from recent Woodbury Police reports.

Nov. 14

An employee of the Red Roof Inn asked the police to help evict a woman. When officers arrived, they noticed she seemed "extremely intoxicated." Her blood-alcohol content was .290. They transported her to Dakota County Detox.

A man said he parked his vehicle in underground parking in the 1600 block of Century Circle at about 8 p.m. Nov. 12. When he returned to his vehicle on Nov. 13, someone had broken into it. "It appeared that the subject(s) had taken the vehicle's antenna off and used it to open the door."

Nov. 15

A man reported he sent a laptop to Ghana and did not receive payment.

An officer stopped a vehicle with a "headlight out" on Woodlane Drive. The driver had a suspended Minnesota driver's license and a warrant for fifth-degree possession. He was arrested and his vehicle was towed.

A homeowner in the 8800 block of Military Road came home and noticed someone broke into her garage. A TV and its mount were missing from the garage wall. The back door to the garage was closed but unlocked. All doors to the home were locked. The woman was "concerned due to a previous situation at her house, where an individual was found in her garage."

Nov. 16

Police used a Taser on a man who ran from them after a disturbance call.

A homeowner in the 2100 block of Queens Drive said his front door was damaged in the morning; someone cut the screen door and broke the screen door handle. There were marks on the wooden door and the door jamb was damaged, but no one had entered the home. There are no suspects or witnesses.

Nov. 17

Police responded to a report of two males yelling at each other in the 6100 block of Birchwood Road. The person who reported it said they contracted with some people on Craigslist to do yard work. The workers only completed half the work, so the homeowner paid them half the money. The workers left before police arrived at the home.

Nov. 18

A bicycle/vehicle accident took place at the intersection of Bielenberg Drive and Valley Creek Road. The bicyclist was heading east on the sidewalk on the north side of Valley Creek Road. The vehicle was in the "turning ramp." The bicyclist entered the road. The driver of the vehicle hit the bicyclist and the bicyclist went over the top of the vehicle's hood and broke the driver's side mirror. The driver of the vehicle stopped and waited for the police to arrive. When an officer arrived, the bicyclist was standing near his bike and said he did not have an injury. The area where the bicyclist was trying to cross Bielenberg Drive "was not marked on the pavement, nor had any cross signal. Neither was cited.

A woman on Sandlewood Road said someone broke into her home and took "multiple electronics items."
