Council Preview: Woodbury Drive Expansion Approval on the Docket
The council is set to vote on several measures that would move the project forward at Wednesday night's meeting.
More lanes. Roundabouts. Trails. Pedestrian safety. Every foot counts.
Officials have held several meetings and engaged in plenty of discussion about the , which will expand the roadway from two lanes to four from Park Crossing south to . Roundabouts are planned for the Lake and Bailey road intersections.
The Woodbury City Council on Wednesday is expected vote on moving ahead with the $13.3 million project. (The city’s portion of the cost is about $3.5 million.)

Specifically, council members will vote on three resolutions:
- approving the preliminary report, authorizing plans and specifications, setting an Aug. 8 public hearing and acquiring easements where necessary;
- approving the reconstruction plans; and
- approving a cooperative construction agreement with Washington County, the lead agency on the project.
The expansion project is meant to meet the 20-year traffic needs of the area, but the planned work has faced challenges because of the narrow right-of-way along that section of County 19.
