DFL Senate District 56 Caucus

The 2012 DFL Caucus will convene at 7 p.m. at Oak Land Junior High in Lake Elmo on Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Senate District 56 includes all of Lake Elmo and parts of Woodbury and Stillwater.

Although new district lines will not be drawn until after the caucuses, Democrats will caucus with their present district. The organizing conventions are after redistricting and will reflect the new boundaries.

Basically, you attend the caucus in your old district, and then, if you are a delegate, attend the new district’s organizing convention.

“We need to begin mobilizing to support President Obama and the rest of the Democrats down the ticket,” she added. “Here in Minnesota we came close to having the same situation they had in Wisconsin. Fortunately, we elected Governor Dayton. This is not the time to sit it out.”
