Graduation Day in Woodbury: 2013 Citizens’ Academy
The group was recognized during a ceremony Monday night at the Eagle Valley Golf Course clubhouse.
The fourth graduating class of the Woodbury Citizens’ Academy received their diplomas Monday night at the Eagle Valley Golf Course clubhouse.
Over several weeks each spring, the Woodbury Community Foundation program looks to give people an inside look at all facets of the city, from government to public safety to local media.
Mayor Mary Giuliani Stephens gave the keynote address at the Monday, April 22, ceremony.

“Woodbury is a great place to live, work and thrive,” Stephens said in a release. “We encourage everyone to get involved and do great things for our community.”
The Woodbury Community Foundation runs the Woodbury Citizens’ Academy in cooperation with the city and other community partners. The Woodbury Lions Club was the lead sponsor this year.

More than 90 people have graduated from the Citizens’ Academy since its inception.
“It is truly an honor to have strong partners such as the city, the county, the Lions Club, and all the other nonprofits and businesses in Woodbury for this program,” said Jim Widen, chair of the Woodbury Community Foundation. “We appreciate the time commitment and dedication of our participants and presenters alike.”
Patch participated in the local media session in early April.
2014 Citizens’ AcademyInformation on the 2014 program will be available in December 2013 on the Woodbury Community Foundation website.
Those interested in participating in the next session should email WCF@WoodburyFoundation.org.
Class enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis and will be opened to those on the waiting list first.
