How Does Woodbury Measure Up?

There were plenty of “good” and “excellent” ratings for Woodbury in a survey recently submitted to the state auditor.

Woodbury was one of 62 cities across the state to participate in the standard measures program for 2012, which makes it eligible for a reimbursement of $0.14 per capita in local government aid (not to exceed $25,000), according to the office of State Auditor Rebecca Otto.

There are 10 sections of the survey, which measure things such as city services in general and the quality of parks and trails.

Only 7 percent of cities—and 29 percent of counties—participated in the survey this year, according to a KSTP report.

Meanwhile, the Woodbury City Council on Wednesday is set to adopt the proposed 2013 property tax levy and budget.

The city—which did not increase the levy in 2012—will not be able to increase the preliminary budget and levy once set. Check out the council agenda for details.

A truth in taxation meeting will likely be scheduled for Dec. 12.
