Positive Reviews for Woodbury? ‘Understatement of Colossal Proportions’

The Woodbury City Council on Wednesday got the results from the 2013 community survey.

The litany of “good” and “excellent” reviews of city services that came from the 2013 community survey may have been best summed up thusly:

To say people have positive feelings about Woodbury would be an “understatement of colossal proportions,” said Bill Morris, president of Decision Resources, the company that conducted Woodbury’s survey and does so for several other metro area cities.

The Woodbury City Council heard the results from the biannual survey during its meeting Wednesday night.

Decision Resources conducted telephone interviews with 400 Woodbury residents in February, asking about everything from stoplights and roundabouts to housing options and public safety and how much more in taxes people would be willing to pay for a water park.

The questions, results and comparisons to previous years are included with PDFs that accompany this post.

Overall, Morris said he would easily put Woodbury in the top five cities in the metro area, likely at No. 2.

That, of course, prompted Councilman Paul Rebholz to ask which city came in at No. 1. Councilman Christopher Burns quickly chimed in to amend the question, who does he “misperceive to be No. 1?”

A jumble of conversation ensued, but Edina was mentioned, and Morris said “cake eaters” would put them on the right track.
