How Clean Is Woodbury's Water?

The city will hold a public meeting on Tuesday.

The public is encouraged to attend a public information meeting this week on the city’s water quality.

The City of Woodbury is presently working on its “Wellhead Protection Plan.” The plan will act as a proposal on how to protect the city’s potable water from contamination.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Residents will be able to comment on the plan, and convey their thoughts to local officials.

Contact Jim Westerman at 651-714-3719, or at jwesterman@ci.woodbury.mn.us, for more information.

Make sure city uses ductile iron pipe for water mains , PVC pipe which is cheaper in price is cancer causing.

The only plastic water piping the city might use would be PEX tubing, not PVC pipe. The city only uses PVC pipe for wastewater disposal. (Don't drink that, there's poop in there)

Woodbury vastly uses iron pipe but the metro area is dominated by PVC pipe

PEX is not used for buried watermain piping, it's used for indoor plumbing.

PEX has underground tubing, as well as indoor. PVC water piping, though still probably used in mobile homes, is no longer used for water supply pipe. It is now used for disposal only. Are we understanding the difference between water supply and wastewater pipe?

Watermains that supply water underground to homes are 3"-60" pipe , you are stuck on indoor plumbing from 1/2" to 2".

Simon, Cities don't run miles of underground watermain pipe to our homes in 1/2" PEX. Hello! This requires large PVC , steel & iron pipe, sizes 6" and up.
